Drug and Alcohol Awareness

This training provides an overview of the most popular types of drugs and paraphernalia, their methods of use, and their effects on the human body.
Participants will be able to:
1. Recognize the dangers associated with the abuse of narcotics, prescription drugs, synthetic/designer drugs, and alcohol.
2. Identify each of the following along with the paraphernalia used to introduce each drug into the human body: Opiates, Marijuana, PCP, Cocaine, Amphetamines, Meth Amphetamines, Ecstasy and Alcohol.
3. Describe the processing method for preparing controlled substances for human ingestion.
Joshua Reager is a Personal Safety Trainer for Service Access & Management (SAM), Inc. Josh has assisted in developing and implementing SAM’s Drug and Alcohol awareness program. Josh also co-trains the Act of Violence and De-Escalation and Safety programs. He has over 20 years of experience as a police officer in the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware. He has represented his department on a county multijurisdictional drug task force as well as the South Central Pennsylvania Counterterrorism Task Force. Josh has experience as a reality based training instructor at the Harrisburg Area Community College Municipal Police Academy, Northeast Counterdrug Training Center, and the Mid-West Counterdrug Training Center. He is a certified Field Training Officer, Firearms and Tactics Instructor, and Active Shooter Response Instructor.
