Mindfulness Meditation
Annika Pile, MSW
Mindfulness Meditation is a practice that involves being fully engaged in whatever is going on around you. Simply the act of paying attention to whatever you are experiencing, as you experience it. Learning and choosing to turn your attention away from the everyday conversation of the mind and on to what your body is doing/feeling. Getting the mind to focus on quieting down.
Participants will be able to:
1. Define the basics of mindfulness meditation
2. Describe how mindfulness meditation helps people learn to accept their feelings, emotions and states of mind without judgment or resistance
3. Identify tools to cultivate mindfulness, self-awareness, and greater insight into interpersonal relationships
